5 ways we are keeping our learners safe during COVID-19

The current Corona Virus (COVID-19) situation is presenting challenges for many businesses and SUASROV's Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) training courses are no exception.

However challenging the current situation is, it provides an opportunity for innovation and we believe that we have the technology solutions and know how to help keep our learners as safe as possible while ensuring we remain constantly aware of emerging developments.

There are 5 key things we are doing to ensure that our learners remain safe:

1. Online training is available for all of our courses

Our state of the art Learning Management System (LMS) and our Google and Apple Apps allow learners to access all theory modules on line without having to attend extended classroom sessions.

For our University learners, modules can be accessed via the SUASROV website and Learning Management System and assignments can be viewed and submitted via the Universities Learning Management System (Canvas).

For learners attending our public courses, again all theory modules can be taken on-line via the SUASROV website supported by our Apple Apps and Google App Apps, realtime, on-line and recorded tutorials, videos, hints and tips and quizzes, learners can also submit any queries via the discussions forum on our Learning Management Systems.

2. Apple and Google Apps allow you to learn wherever and whenever you wish

Our highly interactive training programs are delivered via our Google and Apple Apps that allow learners to take bite sized lessons wherever and whenever they choose.  Learners can track their progress, take quizzes, watch videos and communicate in real-time with our instructors.

3. Real-time and right-time webinars and tutorials are available to all learners.

Learners can now engage with instructors and our Chief Remote Pilot using our real-time webinars, learners can submit questions in advance and all webinars are recorded and available to learners to view off-line, so if you are unable to attend a webinar you can still submit any queries in advance and view the content at a time that suits you.  If you would prefer individual support, 1 on 1 sessions are also bookable with our Chief Remote Pilot.

4. PFD Available for All Course Content and Lessons

We have just taken delivery of a PDF that allows learners to view all course lessons off-line, so if you prefer to read the lessons off line, you can now do so, the PDF is also an excellent revision aid and allows learners to make notes and insert comments to help support their learning outcomes.

5. Access to our Practical Training Facility is tightly controlled

With the superb support of our local Councils, we have been able to gain access to a dedicated facility for our practical training sessions, class sizes are strictly limited to 6 learners.  All our instructors are qualified first-aiders and hold industry OH&S white cards.  All facilities, equipment and learning materials are sterilized by our team before and after each class, hand washing and shower facilities are available on-site, hand sanitiser is provided as is sunscreen, high visibility vests, water and tea and coffee facilities are also provided.  All learners belongings can be securely stored during practical classes.
