If you intend to integrate Remote Aircraft Operations into your existing business, or to build a business using remotely piloted aircraft you must also hold a Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC).
The Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC) builds upon your existing Remote Pilot's License and expands your knowledge by focusing on planning and executing missions in complex airspace where permissions, exemptions or exclusions from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) must be obtained prior to commencing operations.
Prior to commencing training for your Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC), you must hold a Remote Pilot's Licence (RePL), you will also hold a current Aviation Reference Number (ARN) and it is strongly advised that you hold or complete an Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate (AROC) as this is essential should you wish to seek permissions from CASA to operate in Controlled or Restricted Airspace or to operate outside of Standard Operating Conditions (SOC).
During the course you will be presented with several real-world scenarios and will be guided by our expert instructor and Chief Remote Instructor (CRI) on how to obtain all of the necessary information in order to complete Job Safety Assessments (JSA's), Risk Assessments (RI), and how to approach CASA should permissions be required.
We will also provide you with a comprehensive set of manuals and procedures, ensuring that you are fully compliant with current regulatory requirements.
We will then arrange for a one-on-one interview with our CASA Delegate who will provide you with a scenario that you will complete and submit within a specified time frame (normally 72 hours), following which, our Delegate will review your submission to ensure you are ready to commence operations a remote operator.

If you wish to set up your own business providing Remote Pilot services on a commercial basis and you want to operate equipment weighing more than 2KG, or you want to employ additional Remote Pilots you MUST hold a Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC).
In addition, if you need to seek permissions from, exemptions or exclusions to operate outside Standard Operating Conditions (SOC's) you MUST hold a Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC):
This includes permissions to operate more than one aircraft at a time, operations at night, operations closer than 30m to people, swarming, aerial spraying, operations above 120m/400ft, operations within 3NM of a controlled airport or operations in restricted airspace.
Our well trained, licenced (Remote Pilot's Licence - RePL), Certified (Remote Operator's Certificate - ReOC) Operators, hold positions across many industries where their key focus is on managing Remote Operations for either their own business or as the Chief Remote Pilot (CRP), Maintenance Controller (MC) or Chief Remote Instructor (CRI) for their employer.
The rapid growth of the Remote Aviation Industry and the ongoing uptake and integration of Remote Aviation capabilities into other industries has led to a significant shortfall for qualified and experienced Operators.
The Remote Operators Certificate unlocks opportunities across many industries, and with new applications and use-cases being developed almost daily, the opportunities are limitless.
Past students hold positions across many industries including:
The Remote Aviation Industry is one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. In Australia, we have witnessed exponential growth every year with many companies now struggling to attract and retain experienced and qualified Remote Pilots.
In 2018 we hardly ever saw a role advertised for a Chief Remote Pilot, recently, we have seen almost a dozen Chief Remote Pilot Roles with Salaries well over the $200K mark for suitably qualified individuals.
Remote Pilots must consider the other skills and practical expertise they will bring to the market in order to make them stand out, have you technical skills or IT experience?, if not, is there a course available to build these micro qualifications, remember in a rapidly growing industry, the needs and expectations of employers and clients will also continue to grow and develop so it is key to keep on top of industry developments and regulations.
At Suas Rov we see education as a life-long journey, we are proud of our great record and as both a CASA Certified Training Organisation and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we are the perfect partner to help you build your skills and grow your brand in this industry.

It will be similar to the workshop you completed for your RePL theory, however, this workshop will go into a little more detail so that you are ready to complete your ReOC with the CASA delegate.

Aviation Reference Number (ARN):
CASA requires all licensed personnel to hold an Aviation Reference Number (ARN) . This is how CASA uniquely identifies you and records your training and license credentials, you must hold an ARN in order to sit your remote pilot's license exam.
